Winter weather doesn’t stop community care—and the Anacostia BID Clean Team continues to prove that every day.
Through ice, sleet, and stubborn layers of what many of us now know as snowcrete, our Clean Team has been working tirelessly to clear sidewalks and pathways throughout the corridor—helping ensure safe access to and from local businesses, organizations, and community spaces.
This includes addressing heavy ice buildup near places like Project Create, where frozen layers require significant time, strength, and persistence to remove. This kind of work is physically demanding and often happens quietly in the background, but its impact is felt immediately by residents, workers, and visitors navigating Anacostia.
We are deeply grateful for the dedication, resilience, and care our Clean Team brings to the neighborhood—especially during challenging winter conditions.
