Kristina Noell
Executive Director

In 2018, the Anacostia BID Board of Directors announced the appointment of Kristina Noell as Executive Director. With over 20 years of experience working with small businesses and economic and neighborhood development, the board felt Kristina was an excellent choice to lead the BID in expanding its mission and reach. Before joining the Anacostia BID, Kristina served as Director of Business Development, Strategic Alliances, and Initiatives at the Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP). Before WDCEP, she worked for the Washington DC Convention and Sports Authority (Events DC). Kristina has been recognized for her enthusiasm for supporting DC small businesses, creativity in accomplishing the Anacostia BID's mission, and ability to expand member capacity and success.


Ryen Washington
Project and Operations Associate

Ryen Washington joined the Anacostia BID in 2022 as a Project and Operations Associate, working with the team and the community to implement and support a thriving, safe, clean, and vibrant commercial arts district in Washington, DC's Historic Anacostia. He gained a hard-earned reputation as a servant leader for over a decade, and he has a slew of accolades and testimonies from the firms he managed before his tenure at Anacostia BID. Ryen prioritizes professionalism, tact, and diplomacy, demonstrating the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and affiliations at all levels of government, business, and non-profit organizations. Ryen's mission is to encourage others by promoting overall well-being through empathy and respect.


Ashley Templeton
Marketing and Arts & Culture Program Manager

Ashley has been a lifelong enthusiast of the arts, born into a family of creatives and visiting museums and cultural destinations from a very young age. She has a degree in Visual Studies (Art History, Fine Art, Philosophy) from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master's in Exhibition Design from the Corcoran College of Art + Design. Her entry point into the professional world was in museum and exhibition design, coordinating with various national institutions while working at the award-winning design firm Gallagher & Associates. She then transitioned into the fine art world and worked as Director of Sales and Marketing at the internationally recognized gallery Guarisco Gallery for over eight years. Her passion for Washington, DC, and desire to work with the district's colorful and rich cultural fabric led her to the ABID to work on the exciting new endeavor to showcase that Anacostia is the Arts and Culture District of Washington, DC.
