2025 MOBILE Small Business Kiosk Preservation Program
What is the MOBILE Small Business Kiosk – Preservation Program?
For the third year, the Anacostia Business Improvement District and the 11th Street Bridge Park (a project of the Ward 8 non-profit Building Bridges Across the River) has created a temporary mobile pop-up location for East of the River small businesses to vend and receive technical assistance (TA.) This innovative program provides a solid platform for small business growth and sustainability. Exciting news! This year we have added an additional kiosk so we will be able to double the number of businesses in the program!
The Mobile Small Business Kiosk is designed to provide resources, tools, and support for small businesses looking to test their brand and allow consumers to learn about their business in multiple locations during their month-long tenure in the Mobile Kiosk. Each month, from June to December, the kiosk will highlight one of the selected businesses to operate free of cost, and relocate to new destinations, including prominent locations like the D.C. Jazz Festival, Eastern Market and the National Capital BBQ Battle.
This program provides a $2,000 grant, one-on-one kiosk operations assistance, capacity building, and marketing support pro bono in collaboration with Accenture. In partnership with Capital One Bank, each small business will also receive additional business coaching and co-working space opportunities at the Capital One Café. For other TA needs, selected businesses can access the Anacostia BID’s Business Communications Access Portal (BCAP). In addition, participating companies can visit the BCAP resource library and the online helpdesk and network and share knowledge with other participants. Participating businesses could include art, retail, bath/body, clothing, produce, pre-packaged food, etc.
