JAN 20 | Deadline to apply for a FY 2026 Robust Retail Citywide Grant
The District’s Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) is now accepting applications for the FY 2026 Robust Retail Citywide Grant Program.
The program is designed to support existing DC-based retail businesses in maintaining operations and long-term viability. Eligible businesses may receive up to $10,000 in grant funding to help cover operating expenses. Approximately 50 businesses will be awarded grants from $500,000 in total FY 2026 funding.
Grants will be awarded through a reimbursement-based lottery system to businesses that meet all eligibility requirements by the application deadline. Businesses that received a Robust Retail Citywide grant in FY 2025 are not eligible to apply.
Eligibility Overview
Applicants must:
Be a District-based retail business
Be a licensed, for-profit, public-facing seller of legal goods or services
Operate from a brick-and-mortar commercial retail location in Washington, DC
Be an eligible business type listed in the program’s Request for Applications (RFA)
Not fall under any ineligible business categories listed in the RFA
Submit all required documents and attestations outlined in the application checklist
How to Apply
Complete application instructions are included in the official Request for Applications (RFA). Applications must be submitted through the online application system linked on DSLBD’s website. Paper or email submissions are not accepted.
