Redbrick LMD’s leadership team has significant experience in the acquisition and repositioning of existing projects, the entitlement and ground-up development of new projects, and the financial and legal structuring of transactions to maximize returns while mitigating risks for investors. Redbrick LMD’s 4 million square foot development pipeline represents the largest pipeline of opportunity zone investments on Metro within Washington, DC. Redbrick LMD's platform includes both a mixed-use development pipeline of approximately 4,000,000 sq. ft. and approximately 1800 units of owned apartments. The immediate focus of the firm is to capitalize and build out our development pipeline.

Director of Community Relations

At Redbrick LMD, we care deeply about our relationship with the communities in which we work. We are seeking a part-time or full-time Director of Community Relations to help us maintain and nurture these relationships in our company and beyond.

Our ideal team member will have excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills, but also the ability to foster positive, long-term relationships with both individuals and organizations. They will be the principal ambassador for the organization, often speaking internally and publicly – delivering the company’s vision within the local Ward 8 and greater DC communities. Prior experience working with community organizations and/or the DC government in relation to Ward 8 is required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop a strategy to build and maintain programs and activities that will have a positive impact in the neighborhoods where we are active.

  • Build and maintain relationships with members of the community, key individuals, and other organizations. These relationships include all faith-based leaders, politicians, business leaders, and civic stakeholders in the Ward 8 and greater DC communities. Leverage interpersonal skills to work with a wide lens of the community and be effective with all and sometimes competing constituencies.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for neighboring businesses, institutions, and communities and triage requests and information within the appropriate groups within Redbrick LMD. Fill the role as the principal ambassador for Redbrick LMD, with responsibilities for delivering the Company’s vision within the local community and responding to inquiries from community members or other interested parties.

  • Organize community outreach programs and coordinate special events that promote products, services, or ideas of the company.

  • Draft and distribute various communications, including press releases, that promote the Company, as well as individuals or groups within the Company.

  • Attend relevant ANC, government, and other stakeholder events and activities to represent Redbrick LMD and build strong relationships with key community members.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute public press conferences, working with third party public relations agencies when necessary.

  • Manage social media content plans and virtual groups to enhance the online profile of the company.

  • Serve as the primary interface with and responsible for community summer intern and local workforce hiring.

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a role that involved substantial community outreach in Ward 8. Must have deep roots and relationships in Ward 8.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Detail and process-oriented and ability to craft complicated and/or nuanced messaging in a strategic manner

  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact,

    kindness, and professionalism.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related writing and presentation software.

  • Intelligent, strong work ethic, and enjoys working collaboratively on teams.

  • High integrity and desire to learn and grow professionally.

  • 2- or 4-year college degree (preferred).

  • Resident of Ward 8 (preferred).
