Join Martin Smith, Founder and President, Wealthcare Financial Group, Inc., Washington, DC as he gives tips on sound financial planning practices that could help you create and sustain financial independence. 

Martin Smith is a 20+ year veteran in the financial services industry and specializes in retirement planning, investment management, and fiduciary consulting.  He has a Masters Degree in Commercial Real Estate Finance from Georgetown University and a Bachelor's degree in Legal Communications from Howard University, Washington, DC.  He has earned several additional financial certifications including Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF), Accredited Analyst (AIFA), Retirement Planning Specialist (RPS), and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC).  He makes regular media appearances, having been a guest on several affiliate stations for NBC and CBS.  He currently splits his time between the Washington, DC and Atlanta Metro area where he is actively hiring and training new financial advisors, as well as recruiting new investment firms to join his company.  He and his wife Walida have seven children and live in Washington, DC.

Inspiration | Action is a new weekly virtual series of programs by Smithsonian’s Anacostia Community Museum to educate and inspire participants to calls of action and become civically engaged.  Experts will briefly present on four related topics based on one monthly theme.   At the end of each program, participants will be provided digital resources to engage, participate in, or just learn more about the topic discussed.
