Nov 19 | Anacostia Community Museum presents More Joy, Less Clutter: Simplify Your Life with the KonMari Method

Thursday, November 19 | 2:30 – 3pm

Even when circumstances of the world are beyond our control, knowing that our homes can be sanctuaries for us is important. Are you interested in learning how to move from feeling overwhelmed by 'stuff' at home to creating a space that brings you joy? In this session you will meet Jenny Albertini, owner of Declutter DC, to learn about her career path from US Diplomat to professional organizer and how using the popular KonMari Method can help you tidy up your own home to reduce clutter and increase joy. During 2020 while we are all spending more time than ever at home and working remotely, the tips from this session can help make sure you can create a soothing space even in the midst of a pandemic.

Jenny Albertini has been organizing health systems and closets around the world for more than two decades. Recently named as one of Emory University's 40 under 40 for her work fighting the AIDS epidemic while waging war on clutter, she has brought order to hundreds of homes and offices since opening her company Declutter DC in 2016. Declutter DC has been featured as a Best of DC service in The Washingtonian, on PBS News Hour and in the Washington Post, through Apartment Therapy and National Geographic. Currently Jenny splits her time as a Platinum-Level certified consultant and instructor for Marie Kondo and as the Senior Technical Advisor for HIV Prevention and Maternal Health at the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). By using her background training in global health programming for the US government, Jenny brings a classic DC touch of diplomacy to all of her client sessions and speaking engagements as she works on cleaning up the capital, one home at a time.
