Jazzy Sundays Return to Anacostia for Eight Weeks of Free Live Music

Summer Sundays are about to get a whole lot smoother in Anacostia.

The Anacostia Business Improvement District (Anacostia BID), in partnership with DCity Smokehouse, is bringing back Jazzy Sundays in Anacostia for its second season after a successful debut that quickly became a neighborhood favorite.

Beginning Sunday, July 12, residents and visitors are invited to enjoy eight consecutive weeks of free live jazz performances every Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. The outdoor concert series offers a relaxing way to wrap up the weekend while celebrating local music, food, and community. Guests can settle in with lawn chairs or blankets, enjoy performances from both returning favorites and new artists, and grab barbecue from the DCity Smokehouse food truck. A bar will also be available throughout the afternoon.

The series culminates during Labor Day weekend with the return of the Anacostia BID's annual Jazz Hop Sound Sessions. Rather than remaining in a single location, the finale expands throughout the Anacostia Business Corridor, transforming the neighborhood into a celebration of live music, local businesses, food, and culture.
