JAN 17 | Martha's Table hosts All-Day MLK Day of Service Events in Ward 8

(Washington, D.C.) - On Monday, January 17, from 10 AM to 5 PM, Martha's Table will host the largest MLK Day of Service event in its history, incorporating more than 50 volunteers and community partners. The annual MLK Day of Service exemplifies Martha's Table's commitment to working alongside and within the community in partnership with like-minded organizations and agencies. 

The event will span three locations, starting at 10 AM, Martha's Outfitters will host a grab-n-go market featuring fresh produce and community resources. A volunteer pep rally will kick off at Martha's Table at the Commons at 1 PM, where volunteers will convene in a pre-service event celebration until 1:30 PM. Following the kick-off, Martha's Table team members will lead volunteers to two community service center sites to participate in beautification projects until 5 PM.

The event is sponsored by Amazon with participating volunteer groups –  B.E. Involved, Deloitte, Anacostia High School, Ballou High School, Anacostia River Church, Junior League of Washington, and Giant Food.
