FEB 28 | Anacostia Recreation Center at Ketcham Ribbon Cutting

On Saturday, February 28 at 12:00 PM, community members are invited to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of the new Anacostia Recreation Center at Ketcham, located at 1929 15th Street SE.

Constructed adjacent to Ketcham Elementary School, this new 15,000-square-foot facility represents a major investment in wellness, recreation, and community connection in Ward 8. Designed to serve residents of all ages, the center offers a range of indoor and outdoor amenities that will support health, learning, and neighborhood engagement for years to come.

Inside, the recreation center features:

  • A full indoor gymnasium

  • Fitness room

  • Kitchen

  • Multipurpose rooms

  • Tech lounge

  • Staff offices and restrooms

The exterior enhancements include a covered seating area, welcoming entry plaza, new playground, improved lighting, an open field, walking and running paths, and landscaped green space.

The new Anacostia Recreation Center at Ketcham creates additional opportunities for youth programming, fitness activities, community gatherings, and everyday recreation in the neighborhood.
