APRIL 6 | Dyngus Day DC Returns to Atlas Brew Works’ Bridge District Brewery & Tap Room
A beloved Polish tradition is returning to the Bridge District this spring. On Monday, April 6, Atlas Brew Works will host Dyngus Day DC at its Bridge District Brewery & Tap Room, bringing music, food, beer, and festive traditions to celebrate the end of Lent.
Observed on Easter Monday, Dyngus Day is a traditional Polish holiday marking the close of Lent with playful customs and lively gatherings. Historically, the day is known for friends splashing one another with water and tapping each other with pussywillow branches as symbols of renewal and good fortune. At Atlas Brew Works, guests can take part in the fun with squirt guns and pussywillow branches provided on-site.
The free celebration kicks off at 3 PM, making it the perfect pregame stop for baseball fans heading to Nationals Park for the Washington Nationals vs. St. Louis Cardinals matchup just across the river. Guests can enjoy food, beer, and a festive atmosphere throughout the afternoon and evening.
Starting at 6 PM, Baltimore’s TKO Band will bring the energy with live polka music, adding to the lively, traditional spirit of the event.
Attendees can also enjoy a special Dyngus Day Lager brewed for the occasion. The limited-release beer pairs perfectly with classic Polish fare, including pierogies and kielbasa. Specialty Dyngus Day merchandise will also be available for purchase, including t-shirts, koozies, buttons, and more.
With live music, traditional food, festive activities, and a special beer release, Dyngus Day DC offers a unique way to celebrate a centuries-old tradition right here in Washington.
