Anacostia Playhouse seeks Production Manager, and two Stage Managers for Re-opening Block Party
Anacostia Playhouse seeks three roles described below for Block Party 2021, taking place September 24-26. Availability during the week before, September 19-24, is required, as well as some production meetings before the event.
The Block Party is a three-day event at Anacostia Playhouse which will include live in-theater readings and performances, outdoor music and entertainment, and community building.
Production Manager will oversee all aspects of the event planning, including scheduling, hiring and scheduling overhires, and serving as the communicator among the artistic production staff and the artistic and executive directors. Production manager will supervise and communicate with the Indoor and Outdoor Stage Managers to ensure an effective show running process and will schedule and run the appropriate number of production meetings.

Pay: $750
Indoor Stage Manager will serve as the stage manager for all indoor events, including staged readings, performances, and other events. The Indoor Stage Manager will report to the Production Manager, the executive team of Anacostia and the outdoor stage manager to ensure effective communication. The indoor stage manager will manage performers and technical staff, and will run the technical booth for all indoor performances. Technical responsibilities are expected to be light. The Indoor Stage Manager will also run and be present for all rehearsals and attend any production meetings.
Pay: $500
Outdoor Stage Manager will serve as the stage manager for all outdoor events, including live music performances and all other events. The Outdoor Stage Manager will report to the Production Manager and the executive team of Anacostia Playhouse to ensure a well-executed and managed event and will work closely with the Indoor Stage Manager. The Outdoor Stage Manager will manage performers and technical staff for outdoor events and be present for any production meetings or rehearsals.
Pay: $500
This event will follow all COVID-19 guidelines present at the time of the event, and all working the event will need to follow said guidelines.
