Coming your way on April 25 for 5 performances only!

Anacostia Playhouse presents 20 young actors, ages 7-14, who have been practicing their hearts out and are  now ready to show off their work,  bringing the Rainbow Fish to life!

Under the direction of Sisi Reid, Agyeiwaa Asante and Daniel Flores, they have been memorizing lines and music, practicing choreography with La'Nora Smith, and most importantly, learning to work as an ensemble or, as it says in the play, a school of fish!

This year we have a special way you can support the kids, in addition to cheering them on. We've been working on a magical set, designed by Megan Holden.

You'll see wonderful denizens of the deep, costumed by Nora Dahlberg, and then portrayed on the set as original art by Megan and  scenic painter Beth Baldwin and brilliantly lit by John Alexander. All of the pieces of the set will be available for a donation of your choice when we sadly have to take it all down the day after we close. Below is just a taste of what you'll see. This is a wonderful way to show your support for our youth programs as we build an East of the River youth acting company. Set pieces will be first come, first served,  but you have to come see the show to make your choice!

So pack up friends and family and come swim in our sea with the Rainbow Fish!
