Submissions Being Accepted for Anacostia Shorts 2025 Film Festival

Presented by Valley Place Arts Collaborative and Open Road, this three-day film festival will consist of two in-person and one virtual screening. It will take place May 10 - 12, 2025.

The festival's first day is dedicated to a diverse range of films, including those that speak to our present moment. The second day celebrates filmmakers local to the DMV for our "Anacostia Shorts" contest and highlights shorts from national and international contributors, promising a rich and varied cinematic experience.

Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, are in person. The IN-PERSON screenings will occur at the Honfleur Gallery (1241 Marion Barry Ave SE, Washington, DC 20020) from 6:00PM to 8:30PM EST.

Each day of the in-person screenings will be an opportunity for you to engage with the creative minds behind the films. We will be hosting a filmmakers' Q&A session, giving you the chance to ask questions and gain insights from the filmmakers themselves.

Monday, May 12, will be a virtual presentation ONLY and will be live-streamed on YouTube on Open Road's channel. After the live event, a recording of the festival will be available on the channel for on-demand viewing for a limited time.
