Many job seekers face multiple challenges related to literacy, computer skills, work readiness, transportation, housing, and other barriers to employment. Skyland Workforce Center provides high-quality workforce development programs in one location, leading to work-ready employee candidates, career-focused job placement, economic self-sufficiency, and improved quality of life.

Five nonprofit partners offer employment programs and services at the Center: Byte Back, Calvary Women's Services, Life Asset, Samaritan Ministry, and Southeast Ministry. Our partners benefit from each other's specific expertise, leveraging the strengths and resources of each organization for greater collective impact.

In addition to coordinating these organization's hallmark workforce programs, the Center leverages its relationship with the Skyland Town Center development teams and other construction projects to connect DC residents directly with construction jobs.

Since our launch in December 2014, over 4,000 community members have come through our doors to learn about the Center, participate in our programs and receive services.
