Talk about hosting two dope authors on MahoganyBooks Front Row?  You're in for a treat as we host a special conversation featuring bestselling author Nic Stone and her new book, Dear Justyce.  Nic will be in conversation with activist DeRay McKesson.

About Author Nic Stone:  Nic is an Atlanta native and a Spelman College graduate. Her debut novel for young adults, Dear Martin, and her debut middle-grade novel, Clean Getaway, were New York Times bestsellers. She is also the author of Odd One Out, a novel about discovering oneself and who it is okay to love, which was an NPR Best Book of the Year and a Rainbow Book List Top Ten selection, and Jackpot, a love-ish story that takes a searing look at economic inequality. She lives in Atlanta with her family.

About the Book:  DEAR JUSTYCE, a sequel to the #1 New York Times bestselling Dear Martin by award-winning author Nic Stone. Delving further into the injustices that exist within the judicial system, Stone gives readers the story of an incarcerated teen who writes letters to Justyce, the main character in Dear Martin. Named one of Elle magazine’s five YA authors who are “rewriting the rules of young adult fiction,” Stone’s star continues to rise with each new novel.

About DeRay McKesson:  Spurred by the death of Mike Brown and the subsequent protests in Ferguson, Missouri, and beyond, DeRay has become a key player in the work to confront the systems and structures that have led to mass incarceration and police killings of black and other minority populations. He is also the host of the award-winning weekly podcast Pod Save The People - which creates space for conversation about the most important issues of the week related to justice, equity and identity.
