SEPT 24 - 26 | Anacostia Playhouse's Takin’ It To The Streets Community Celebration

Due to the ever-changing COVID numbers and a number of scheduling and permitting snafus, the Playhouse has had to cancel the outside activities planned for the "Takin' It to the Streets" block party. We are deeply sorry that this community celebration had to be put on hold and that so many artists that were standing by are sidelined. While we search for an alternative answer, we're happy to announce that we will go ahead with two of the indoor events.

On Saturday, September 25 at 7pm, we will present A.R. Gurney's Love Letters with James Foster and Adele Robey, under the direction of Jared Shamberger. Foster and Robey first did Love Letters almost 20 years ago and this performance will represent a reunion on many levels.

Then on Sunday, September 26 at 6pm we will present the inimitable Kendall King in Concert. Earlier this year Kendall's Friday Night Live concert was sidelined with technical difficulties but those have been solved and she's prepared to bring the house down! The concert will be both live and streamed
