Student authors and dignitaries from UDC, DCPS, Conservation Nation and Anacostia High School will be featured speakers. Young Voices of the Anacostia River: Exploring Black Roots to the Eastern Shore and Back is a new book of essays, poems, reports and photos featuring 15 Anacostia High School seniors who spent the summer of 2024 exploring Black contributions to the environment in the DC region, all the way to the Eastern Shore. A reception with light refreshments will follow the main event.
