Off We Go to Mexico:
A Movement & Craft-Making Workshop for Families
Where do the monarch butterflies fly to in the winter? Is it cold everywhere in the world? Join Inner City-Inner Child on an imaginary journey to Mexico where there is so much to see, hear and do! Movement artist Becky Lallande will lead us through a festival in a village square, the rhythm of a mariachi band, and to the winter home of the monarch butterflies where you'll make your own butterfly to take home with you. Join us on an adventure in the sun to warm you and your family on a winter day in DC! Recommended for children ages 2-6, but everyone is welcome!
Everyone receives a FREE book at the end of each workshop.
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Art-Making for a Beautiful & Creative New Year!
It's a new year and time for reflection and aspiration! This Saturday, join Project Create Teaching Artist/Art Therapist Emily Wade as we create tiny jar necklaces which we will fill with materials that represent our hopes and dreams for the new year. We will also decoupage boxes with images and words to keep us inspired and focused on our goals for 2020. Let's start the new year right -- with art-making in community with friends and family!
