Free Youth Fishing Classes Every Wednesday in Anacostia Park!
Looking for a fun, free, and family-friendly summer activity in the heart of DC? Anacostia Park is the place to be every Wednesday through August 27, with Youth Fishing Classes hosted by Friends of Anacostia Park.
Led by Resident Angler Mr. Holmes and Fish & Feathers Intern Val, these hands-on sessions are perfect for youth ages 5–15 and their chaperones (16+). No experience needed—just come ready to learn, explore, and enjoy the outdoors!

🕚 Two Sessions Each Day:
• 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

✅ No registration required
🎁 Free fishing rod and tackle box for participating youth
🏅 Earn a Junior Ranger badge from the National Park Service
🎟️ Chaperones can receive a free fishing license (DC, MD, or VA)
