CELEBRATING ZSUDAYKA NZINGA TERRELL
Recipient of the 2023 East of the River Distinguished Artist Award
Presented by Honfleur Gallery in loving memory of Sharon Hughes Gautier.

Zsudayka Nzinga Terrell created the Infinity Program to create a community and empower Black women artists in the DMV area to show their artwork and understand the art business. Judges Carol Dyson, Shante Bullock, and James Brown, Jr. helped narrow down from over 50 applicants the top 11 artists. From the early 20s to early 50s, emerging, practicing, and re-emerging artists met for eight weeks and learned about the art business from various presenters, including an art consultant, grant manager, museum acquisitions coordinator, trademark attorney, and a life coach. We painted together and built our businesses. Our bond was so strong we decided to form a collective, continue supporting each other, and grow together in our art and life journeys. All of our artists are showing regionally now.

This exhibition is titled "Interlocked" and explores the connections forged between groups of people working in unison towards a common goal. Featuring the work of Camille Angel, Sanah Brown-Bowers, Shante Bullock, Bria Edwards, Artiste Fletcher, Dany Green, Joy Nutt, Reshada Pullen, Liz Stewart, Chantae Sudlow, Candice Tavares, and Vanessa Villareal.
