Summary of Summer 2023 Programs:

Child Art Therapy Groups (6-10 years)
HeART Space will pilot a NEW art therapy program for children to promote creativity, emotional literacy, positive socialization, and identity strength. Art therapists will individually meet with each family and their child prior to the group to get to know them and their child, and learn about their child’s needs and goals for the art therapy group. Each group will be capped at 6 students.

Art for Strength (11-15 years)
This multi-media therapeutic art class will provide upper elementary and middle school students with the opportunity to step into their strength and own their brilliance through artmaking. This class will focus on building creative problem solving, mastery, resiliency, and self-esteem. Students will have an opportunity to work with a wide-range of art materials to explore who they are and their world, and to create a series of thoughtful and meaningful art pieces.

Teen & Young Adult Social Hour (13-17 years)
Teens and young adults will play a KEY role in the direction of this art group. Students will identify what topics matter most, and the art materials and process to explore it, and the art therapist will provide the materials and the safe and creative space to process. Students will create art together and enjoy time to connect in a positive and creative studio environment.

Family Art Therapy Groups

On Wednesday or Thursday nights from 6-8pm, families will join with other families committed to growing in strength and in love. In these groups, families will use new art techniques to increase emotional wellness, decrease anxiety, and build resilience while connecting with each other. No art experience is necessary – just an openness to learn, listen, and create together. A delicious dinner will be served at the beginning of every group. Prior to the start of the session, art therapists will meet individually with each family to get to know them, and learn about their growth goals for their family.

Family First Friday Workshop & Dinner

On the first Fridays of the month from 6-8pm, families will be invited to join for dinner and an engaging introduction to art therapy workshop. Art therapists will lead families in a collaborative art process to build connection, communication, and creativity.

Saturday Family Art Day Workshop

Families will be invited to register for a series of therapeutic arts workshops on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from 1-3pm.
