JULY 10 | WEL Lecture Series: “Malama ‘Aina”, Caring for and Nurturing the Land

Saturday, July 10 | 2 – 4pm

Grounded in the belief that Hawaii's native ecosystems provide the cultural heart of its people and the basis for traditional material culture, community-based Native Hawaiian restoration and conservation organization 'Ahahui Mālama I Ka Lōkahi envisions a healthy Hawaiian ecosystem natured by human communities.

Join community cultural health planner Mei Ling Isaacs for an exploration of residents’ efforts to restore Kawainui Marsh (Fishpond) a significant habitat for native species and an important historical and cultural site. Her organization’s focus on research, education, and active stewardship provides a model for community-led and nurtured stewardship of and kinship with the environment.
