The New Thing Art & Architecture Center with Topper Carew

n conjunction with the opening of A Right to the City, take part in a historic gathering of alumni from The New Thing Art & Architecture Center--a cutting-edge arts and urban planning organization that operated in Adams Morgan from 1966-1973. The New Thing founder, filmmaker, architect, and activist Topper Carew will be joined by former staff and students for a discussion led by ACM Chief Curator, Dr. Samir Meghelli, about the history and impact of this legendary DC institution. Film screening ("The New Thing" by Michael Bortman, 1970, 14 minutes) followed by panel discussion.
